Below are some of the shops in Singapore that I have visited and think worth recommend because they provide value for money products:
1) Green Sky Dessert (青天冷热甜品) [Near RedHill MRT]
Blk 85 (Food Center), #01-60, RedHill Lane, S(150085)
Sells all sort of dessert like green/red bean soup, chendol, ice kacang, cheng tng, etc. Take away add additional 20 cents.

- Wednesday to Sunday => open from 4 pm to 11 pm

2) Dallas Entertainment Pte Ltd [Near ChinaTown MRT or Outram Park MRT]
Smith Street, New Bridge Centre Blk 336, #02-300 (On top of the CK Departmental Store ; CK牛车水百货公司楼上)
Sells all sort of CD/VCD/DVD. It is the cheapest CD/VCD/DVD shop in Singapore. For example, 1 English DVD "I am Legend" sells $8.00.

** Some lousy CD/DVD movies (eg: Galaxis) printed those famous actors, director or impressive pictures on the front and rear cover of the CD/DVD. After you bought and watched those movies, you will realise that your money was not well spent because not only the movie has very bad storyline, the actors act badly, those famous actors that you saw in the front or rear cover did not shown up in the movie.
Hence, I recommend that you buy only those famous movies (eg: National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, blood diamond, Next, etc) instead of those unknown movie titles with impressive title or pictures.
